The prices of websites can vary massively and I have often found customers simply do not know what one costs!
Web design, programming and other aspects involved take a lot of time and effort to be done right. Sure you may be able to get a website cheaper somewhere else but do you get what you pay for and do you really want a below par website representing your companies internet presence?
One Page 'Business Card' Site
The perfect entry point for small businesses looking to venture into the internet for the first time. Content usually includes information about your company and contact details (including e-mail links).
From £200
Five Page Site
Probably the most common type of website for small/medium sized businesses. 5 pages is enough to describe, in detail, your company and the services provided. Other possibilities are a contact page (Where the customer fills in an online form and the message is sent directly to you) or a testimonials page.
From £350
Basic Ecommerce Site
A good choice for companies wishing to enter the world of ecommerce without breaking the bank. Typically the site will be similar in content to the previously described five page site except for the addition of a page listing a single, or small amount, of items for sale. This type of site will also use a payment service such as PayPal or similar.
From £500
Full Ecommerce Site
An Ecommerce site with all the bells and whistles you are used to seeing. Includes a fully featured admin section so you can manage all aspects of your site and products without any coding knowledge.
From £700
Please remember that these are typical prices for the creation of a website and I cannot stress enough how much each persons requirements can affect the price.
Aswell as the creation of your website there are also a few other costs that need to be taken in to consideration:
Domains
A domain is your web address, www.right-click.info, www.google.co.uk are all domain names. This needs to be thought about in detail; your domain needs to be easy to remember and relevant to your company, it may also be worth registering multiple domain names if there is any common misspellings or alternate spellings of your desired name.
Hosting
Hosting is a term commonly used to describe the computer that your website is stored on and from which it can be accessed by people over the internet. Price varies massively dependant on a few factors such as the space your website takes up and how often it is being accessed. Most websites are hosted on the standard package but it may be necessary to upgrade to a different account should the situation arise.
